Blueberry picking

Earlier this month, we had a wonderful -- albeit sweaty -- time picking blueberries at a nearby farm with Grammie Sandra (the photographer) and our new playgroup friends Gwen, Thomas and baby Priya. The place has amazing old blueberry bushes, with berries at kid level and ones way above my head. Even Isaac, who no longer will even think about eating a blueberry, got into the picking fun. And when the kids got tired of picking berries, there was a swingset and slide right on the other side of the bushes for them to play on while the moms kept picking -- genius! And at the end of the morning, the kids and I had five pounds, and they were so much better and sweeter than the store-bought ones. What a great find!

One of our many blueberry creations -- cobbler! We also made some awesome blueberry cheesecake and of course had blueberry pancakes and fruit salad for a couple of weeks. Yum!
