Learning to spell and write

Over the past month or so, Amelia has really gotten into writing letters and independently sounding out words to try to figure out what letter a word starts with. This is such a neat process to see happening spontaneously -- much like hearing your toddler begin to use verbal language and sentence constructions that you have never explicitly taught. Although her own name is the only word she knows how to spell right now, I can see a whole world of reading and writing on the horizon. What fun!
