Although Isaac isn't crawling or pulling up to standing yet (neither was his sister at this age -- we just aren't an accelerated gross motor skills kind of family), he is constantly on the move. He travels all over the house using an elaborate series of flops and rolls, and sometimes he just likes to lie on his back and kick, kick, kick his legs in joy (we can often hear this through the monitor when he is waking up from a good sleep). He definitely wants to be moving more efficiently though, so I'm guessing that crawling won't be too far off. And just today Isaac figured out how to get himself into a sitting position from lying down. Hurray!
Isaac also loves to "talk" and babble (favorite word: 'da-da'). He also screeches at us when we're not feeding him fast enough, so we're working hard to teach him the baby sign for "more." Isaac is an enthusiastic eater of solids, and his favorite foods are banana, sweet potato, avocado, cheese, toast, tofu, peas, bits of chicken or other meat, Gerber puffs (baby junk food), and pretty much anything else he can feed himself. He tolerates being spoonfed, but he gets really impatient and likes to hold another spoon for himself. Although he still nurses regularly (including once during the night), he's very distractable during the day and often wants to be doing anything else other than nursing.
Although he's growing up so fast, Isaac is still our sweet, smiley baby who is quick to laugh and generally happy to tag along on adventures with his big sister. We love you so much, little bug!

Love,

His favorite word may be "dada," but his first word was "granddaddy."
