90-degree weekend with MeMe & the grandparents

My parents and grandmother (and MeMe's sweet little dog, Zoe, who was a very good sport about two kids chasing her all weekend!) came up to our house the weekend of Isaac's birthday to visit and celebrate with us. MeMe hadn't been to our house since we first moved to Alexandria in 2004 and had hardly any furniture! We had a wonderful time together, and they definitely brought the heat with them -- the temperature hovered around 90 degrees every day they were here. Although it was crazy weather for April, we all enjoyed spending some time in the sun after all the rain we've been getting this spring. (And today, as I type this and it is pouring AGAIN, I desperately miss those 90-degree, bug-free days...)

On Saturday, my mom and grandma kept the kids entertained in the backyard, allowing Luke and me to tend to our seriously neglected yard. My dad did about five trips to the neighborhood hardware store, picking up play sand and mulch and whatever else we needed, which is why he is absent from all the pictures. Thank you, Dad!

I hope you don't wait another five years to visit us again, MeMe! We love you so much.
