Our week with Class Bear

Outside Amelia's preschool classroom door is a big stuffed bear who is always dressed appropriately for whatever the weekly or daily theme is. (Fire hat and dalmatian puppy friend this week, of course). Amelia and I had always admired the hallway bear, so we were thrilled to discover that this classroom would be Amelia's this year. But we had no idea about the classroom's other smaller bear, known simply as Class Bear.

Class Bear gets to go home with a different student each week, and then the kids (Let's be honest, it's mostly the parents...) get to record the weekly events in his journal with writing, photographs, etc. Well, this past week was Amelia's turn. She was thrilled, and she and Class Bear were hardly separated at all during the week. We took him to the Fall Festival at Cox Farms, out to eat and out for ice cream, and even across the river to Maryland. And of course he also got to "enjoy" the depressing past time that is watching UNC football. :)

This is so sweet! My mom does the exact same thing with her 1st-grade class and they love it, too.

Class bear brings back memories! I remember I couldn't wait until it was my turn to take home our bear in kindergarten! Thanks for sharing :)

Susannah, you are such the fun mom! Giving Amelia a little baby sling for the bear. Too cute!
